Please note that Omnitronics will continue to provide support and parts for the DX-64. In addition, easy upgrade paths from the DX-64 to the DX-Altus are available. Please contact us for further details.

Utilizing the power of VoIP, the DX64 radio dispatch system integrates radio, internet and telephone communications enabling lower costs, improved reliability and interoperability. By swapping expensive leased lines, cabling and private communication paths for the existing IP structure, significant cost savings can be achieved. In addition the DX64 provides the following advantages:

High Reliability & Ease of Maintenance

Customization to your individual organization’s needs

Ease of Installation & Management

Scalable & Future Proof – Allows for future expansion with organizational expansion and future technologies.

Highly Cost Effective – Includes standard features such as rapid recall logging and interoperability (VHF, UHF, HF and Trunking networks)

Compatible with VoIP and SIP Phones

This flexible and expandable platform handles up to 56 channels by up to 32 operators. It consists of a number of components. Please contact us to discuss your situation and we will recommend a solution customized to your needs.

Components

SCU – System Control Unit

Provides Control of the System

The heart of the DX-64, it collects configuration parameters from the operators and initiates all the system control and switching functions. Operating as a main/standby pair reliability is ensured.

OPR – Operator Interface Card

Interfaces with up to 32 Operators

Supporting two operator positions, the OPR delivers full-duplex audio to each operator via a 2-wire digital link. By using an on-board DSP, the OPR performs audio mixing and volume level control Adjustments for each operator, according to their foreground (selected) and background (monitor) audio groups.

or IPE in OPR Mode

IP Version of the OPR

TMU – Tape Monitor Unit

Monitors up to 56 Channels

Any or all of the 56 channels can be selected for monitoring. The TMU card has an output capacity of 8 channels, each of which is a 600ohm, transformer coupled, analog output. The TMU also presents a control output for each group of channels whenever a PTT or Mute is detected on that configured channel. Up to seven TMU cards can be installed.

IPE – Voice over IP (VoIP) Interface

Access shared radios through a corporate LAN or WAN

The IPE provides customers with the ability to implement a true distributed radio over IP architecture. Works in conjunction with the Omnitronics IPR 100 and IP400 products.

AFI – Audio Facilities Interface

Provides options for receiving and transmitting audio

Includes provision for headsets, external speakers, desk microphone, Omnitronics 960 handset, rapid recall and PABX handset. In addition, switches for “all call” intercom and PTT are incorporated on the AFI front panel and provision is made for foot switch PTT operation.

or AFI-IP – Audio Facilities Interface

IP Version of the AFI

PC/TS – Operator Touch Screen

Easy to use touch screen interface

Using a standard IBM compatible PC with a touch screen, the operator is able to gain access to all audio channels connected to the system. A friendly graphical user interface (GUI) has been developed to give the operator full control of audio selection, grouping, selcall and many other system functions. The PC communicates to the SCU via a standard TCP/IP LAN. Customization of the GUI can also be accommodated.

or 960 SIP Console

An integrated solution suited to organizations requiring a reliable, easy to use console for frequent access to a wide area network. The SIP capabilities built into this product allows dynamic connections to remote radio’s and supports multiple operators and channels. For more information see Dispatch Solutions.

LIU – Line Interface Unit

Interfaces between various channels and the DX-64 Subrack

Including Radio and PABX, up to 7 LIU’s can be paralleled together. Audio I/O has 600ohm transformers operating at 1V p p, the E lead is opto isolated and can be configured as voltage driven or contact driven and the M lead is a relay contact and can be configured as voltage free or voltage out.

or IPE in LIU Mode

IP Version of the LIU

PLI – Phone Line Interface

Provides 4-channel PSTN interface for the LIU

Allows connection to analog two-wire, ring in/loop out, telephone lines.

STC – Serial Trunking Controller

Provides digital control of MPT1327 Radios

Works in conjunction with the LIU and has 8 channels.

RF – Rack Frame

Mounting the system economically

Ensuring the system is very economical on rack space, the rack frame houses the SCU, TMU, OPR, IPE and E1 cards.
