950 Radio Management Systems Implemented in Response to the Royal Commission Recommendations After the Black Saturday Bush Fires

The Black Saturday bush fires of February 2009 in Victoria, Australia, caused widespread devastation and loss of 173 lives. As a result of the Royal Commission into the tragedy, Omnitronics was chosen by CFA Victoria and  the Department of Sustainability & Environment to provide a coordinated and standardized upgrade to their communications infrastructure. The 950 Radio Management System proved to be just the solution, providing a robust, reliable and user friendly Operator consoles. This upgrade provided a standardized user interface for incident management team members from both agencies, ensuring a fully coordinated response to large fires.
