SOFTWARE ROIP GATEWAY

More dispatchers on every radio gateway, with no new hardware

omniGate is the software gateway for omnicore Enterprise Dispatch Management System. It sits between your consoles and your Omnitronics IPR and DRG radio gateways, so up to 128 operators can share each gateway over a single low-bandwidth stream.

128 consoles per gateway

Up to 128 omnicore console connections on every logical gateway, instead of about 12 on the hardware alone.

128 gateway channels

One omniGate server handles up to 128 IPR and DRG gateway channels.

One stream per gateway

Every console is concentrated into a single RTP stream of about 80 kbps to each gateway.

100% software

Runs on Ubuntu Server as a virtual machine or on a dedicated server, with no gateway hardware to add.

What omniGate does

Break the hardware gateway connection limit

Omnitronics IPR and DRG hardware gateways are built for smaller systems and typically accept around 12 console connections each (up to 48 on an IPR400 S2). When more operators need the same channel at once, or the gateway sits behind a low-bandwidth link, that ceiling becomes the system limit. Multicast can help, but many networks don't support it.

omniGate removes the limit. It runs on a server next to omnicore, takes the SIP and RTP connection from every console and presents each hardware gateway with one static stream. Radio-to-radio patching happens inside the server, so patch groups of more than four radios work even on networks that don't allow multicast.

Need a direct connection to a digital radio network?

omniGate connects consoles to Omnitronics hardware gateways. For a direct software connection to the radio network itself, choose the gateway built for it:

How it works

One server between your consoles and your radio gateways

Consoles connect to omniGate by SIP, the way they would connect to a hardware gateway. omniGate holds a single static connection to each gateway, mixes and arbitrates the audio, and carries the radio control traffic in both directions. A second server with the same gateways gives the consoles somewhere to fail over to.

Consoles connect by SIP

Each omnicore console establishes its own SIP and RTP connection to the logical gateway, from anywhere on the network.

Gateways see one stream

Every gateway receives a single static RTP stream of about 80 kbps, which also lightens the load on the gateway itself.

Patching stays in the server

Patch groups that live entirely in omniGate never leave the host, so they work on networks that block multicast.

Capabilities

What omniGate gives your dispatch system

Fan-out to 128 consoles

Up to 128 console connections per logical gateway. omnicore needs no extra license modules to connect.

Built for low-bandwidth links

Remote sites see one stream of about 80 kbps per gateway rather than one per operator, so satellite and microwave links stay usable.

Radio-to-radio patching

Unicast patch groups of four talk paths and multicast groups of up to 32, routed inside the server. Patching works with all gateway firmware, including older versions.

Automatic failover

A secondary omniGate with the same gateways takes over if the primary becomes unreachable, and consoles stay on it until a manual failback.

Works with your existing fleet

Analog radio through IPR110+ and IPR400 S2, digital radio through DRG100. Group, individual and broadcast calls, emergency, location, text and status messaging pass straight through.

Managed from a browser

Configure, back up and monitor from a web interface with HTTPS and SNMP, so no Linux skills are needed day to day.

Deployment

Runs where your dispatch platform runs

omniGate is a Linux service. Run it as a guest on the omnicore host, on your own hypervisor or on a server sized by Omnitronics for the number of gateways and consoles.

Server

  • Ubuntu Server, on a virtual machine or a dedicated server
  • Can share a physical host with the omnicore server virtual machine
  • Supplied by Omnitronics as a ready-to-run server, or installed on your own hardware

Supported gateways

  • IPR110+ – analog radio, one channel
  • IPR400 S2 – analog radio, four channels
  • DRG100 – digital radio, one channel
  • Earlier IPR100, IPR400 and DRG200i gateways

Resilience

  • Secondary omniGate server for automatic console failover
  • Configuration backup and restore from the web interface
