We’re looking for a Systems Specialist to join our global Services & Support team in the USA. This is a hands-on, highly varied role where you’ll work on cutting-edge communication systems, collaborate with talented colleagues around the world, and deliver real impact for customers every day.

About the role

As a Systems Specialist, you’ll play a key role in delivering and supporting Omnitronics solutions across the globe. From system design and deployment to troubleshooting and customer support, no two days are the same.

You’ll work with technologies such as interoperability gateways, Radio over IP, dispatch systems, and location services—helping customers integrate complex communication environments into seamless, reliable systems.

This is a USA-based role (WST), with flexibility to collaborate across time zones and occasional travel to customer sites worldwide.

 

What you’ll be doing

Implementation and Configuration

  • Deploying and configuring software across Windows and Linux environments
  • Working with virtual machines, databases, and network systems
  • Integrating radio technologies such as P25, DMR, TETRA, and analog into unified solutions

Support and Troubleshooting

  • Providing advanced technical support both remotely and onsite
  • Investigating and resolving complex system issues
  • Recreating customer environments to diagnose and resolve problems

Collaboration and Delivery

  • Working closely with engineers, developers, and customers
  • Supporting customer demonstrations, proposals, and solution design
  • Contributing to project delivery across both agile and traditional environments

Training and Customer Success (ad-hoc)

  • Supporting installations with hands-on user training
  • Helping customers get the most from their systems
  • Collaborating with training and pre-sales teams

 

What you’ll bring

Must-have skills and experience

  • Proven experience in systems implementation, integration, or technical support roles
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows Server and Windows desktop environments
  • Experience working with Linux (command line / bash)
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Hands-on experience with virtualisation technologies such as Hyper-V and VMWare
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, including IP addressing, subnetting, and port configuration
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills across networks, servers, and applications
  • Experience with network diagnostics, including packet capture analysis
  • Exposure to radio communication systems such as P25, DMR, TETRA, or analog
  • Experience providing customer-facing technical support (remote and/or onsite)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers and internal teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across projects and support activities
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work across time zones
  • Participate in the weekend on-call support rotation, providing weekend day coverage for urgent issues in their home region.

 

Nice-to-have (highly regarded)

  • Experience with Radio over IP (RoIP) or interoperability gateway solutions
  • Background in mission-critical communications, public safety, transport, or utilities sectors
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for ticketing and documentation
  • Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall project environments
  • Exposure to pre-sales activities such as demos, proposals, and solution design
  • Experience delivering end-user training or technical workshops
  • Experience with virtualised or cloud-based deployments
  • Relevant certifications in networking, systems, or virtualisation (e.g. Microsoft, VMware, Cisco)
