Omnitronics develops and provides advanced communications technology to vital industries like resources, ports and emergency services, private and public, on a global scale. We’re looking for an experienced software developer with a passion for developing software for real-world, real-time applications.

We are currently seeking a Technical Training & Systems Specialist who will support three critical areas of the Omnitronics business:

– Technical Training

– Sales Engineering

– Technical Services & Support

This position is responsible for planning, designing, testing, training, and deploying Omnitronics solutions, both software and hardware. The specialist will also handle escalated queries and issues globally, providing advanced support for Omnitronics solutions across various regions.

The role requires travel to different regions, including Australia, the Americas, and Europe. This is a UK or USA based role, and the work schedule may need to be adjusted to accommodate UK or USA working hours, as well as to cover working hours in the USA/UK, and provide after-hours support for Australian clients. For example, the working hours may be from 11 am to 7 pm UK time, but can be flexible, and adjustments can be negotiated between the employee and their manager.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role(s)

  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues:

Responsibilities:

SALES ENGINEERING

  • Technical sales product assistance with opportunity responses/system quotes
  • Manage – Develop and maintain sales demonstration tools for the Sales team, key resellers and select strategic customers.
  • Perform competitive product analysis versus known competitors (& frenemies) in partnership with the Marketing and Product teams
  • Participate in reseller, consultant and customer calls/training/tradeshows/webinars/setup of demo/test/certification systems in support of sales personnel (as a technical pre-sales resource/product specific expert)
  • Develop and maintain consultative relationships with key technical buying influences within each account, including multiple levels within the customer or partner’s organization

SYSTEMS SPECIALIST 

  • Installing and configuring software for Windows Server, Windows desktop, Linux command line (bash). Installation and configuration of Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Working with Windows and Linux virtual machines and hypervisors such as Hyper-V and VMWare. Installation and configuration of systems as a virtual machine.
  • Configuration of TCP/IP networks including following network address schemes, assigning static IP addresses, and opening/checking ports for Windows and Linux.
  • Packet capture analysis, PC, network, and server (Windows and Linux) fault finding.
  • Configuration of equipment to allow integration of radio systems such as DMR, P25, Tetra, analog, etc.
  • Working with engineers, software developers, and customers on both waterfall and agile projects. Specifically, the testing, delivery, and end-user training aspects of these projects.
  • Assisting the sales team with technical information for customer proposal documents, project tenders, customer demonstrations, and Q&A sessions.
  • Providing phone, (email) service desk, and in-person customer support. Using Jira software to manage support and projects tickets.
  • Re-creating customer system environments to investigate and reproduce issues.

 TECHNICAL TRAINING

  • Develop and deliver high quality, learner centric training materials, lessons, demos, webinars, courses, and more to support the successful implementation, use, and promotion of Omnitronics products.
  • Face-to-face, remote, video and virtual delivery of instructor-led training to our global network of clients, resellers, and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Developing, presenting, and recording both live and online on-demand training courses, webinars, product and feature pitches, demos, lessons, and more in a variety of formats
