The Solution
Canton Gained The Powerful Functionalities Of The DX-Altus System
Because of the interoperability mandates between Canton Police and the Canton Fire Department, they required a radio system that was compatible with P25. However, they did not want to limit their choice of radios just to P25. To overcome this they were looking for a Radio Dispatch & Management System that could provide interoperability with P25 and the radios of their choosing, in this case ICOM IDAS.
By using a combination of IPR100, IPR110+ and DRG100 Radio over IP gateways, Canton Police are ready to start integrating into the MSWIN, whilst at the same time maintaining their own autonomy and choice of ICOM IDAS trunked system. Canton gained and gaining the powerful functionalities of the DX-Altus system with 2x Alto dispatch positions, delivering the information they need to effectively and efficiently attend to law enforcement duties.

Due to the flexible nature of their new installation, Canton Police can now be confident that any future network changes can be made without changing
their radio systems and they have the flexibility to simultaneously connect to the relevant channels on the Mississippi Statewide MSWIN P25 trunked
Motorola network as well as using ICOM IDAS with a combination of digital and analog radios for their own communication requirements.
